Teachers' Training Course on Inclusive Education in 2023
Kelem International School (KIS) in Addis Ababa recently hosted a two-week professional development training session that focused on the Finnish school system, with a special emphasis on inclusive education. The Kelemawian teachers were thrilled to have the opportunity to learn and grow, and they were not alone in this endeavor. Professors and teacher-students from Kotebe Teachers College also joined the training, making it a collaborative effort aimed at enhancing educational practices.
This training was made possible through the collaboration between the Finnish Center for Expertise in Education and Development (FinCEED) and the Finnish Embassy in Addis Ababa. We were delighted to have been part of this learning experience and to have gained valuable insights into the Finnish education system, renowned for its quality and inclusivity.
As we progressed through the training, we anticipated the practical application of what we learned. We looked forward to implementing these strategies and approaches within our school community, thereby enhancing the quality of education for our students.
We extended our heartfelt gratitude to FinCEED and the Finnish Embassy in Addis Ababa for their support in making this training possible. With their help, we unlocked the keys to quality education, and we were excited to embark on this journey of growth and development in education. Thank you once again!

KIS uses Twinkl, an online educational platform that provides a vast collection of teaching and learning resources for various subjects and age groups. Twinkl offers worksheets, interactive activities, lesson plans, and assessment materials designed to support both teachers and students.
